Just a vague intuition

A few days back I asked an old friend what in her opinion was the elixir of life. Interestingly she said love and artistic expression. As eloquent as her answer was, i could not help but think of the opposite end of it. What could be the elixir of Death? Is it hate and non-aesthetic inclinations? I dont know! am i dead?
